Seventy-five years ago, Casey died and re-awoke, invisible to humans. Five hundred years ago, the Wraith and his shadows went on the run. Until one night, they cross paths.

The Wraith disguises himself as an innocent forest spirit to trick Casey, but she’s not quite as naive as he expects. Quickly, they entangle in ways that barely sate their unceasing hungers—from the lies they spin for each other to the humiliation of resurrecting their past grief.

As other immortals with their own agendas close in, Casey and the Wraith must come to terms with what they have done, what they’ve failed to do, and worst of all, how to forgive themselves and create better things.
